SDCC was so much friggin fun, you guys. I got to hang out with some good friends, and my fiance and I ran around being super-geeks together. I think the highlight of my trip was randomly meeting Lauren Faust, aka , the creator of My Little Pony, while she was at the Milky Way & the Galaxy Girls booth! See, look look look!! sta.sh/0149fw88t5ts
She was so amazingly nice, she drew a doodle in my sketchbook and signed it. Seriously, my biggest goal for SDCC was to meet her, and I did. So now I can, you know. Die happy.
And THEN, as if my MLP shenanigans could not get any better, I found Tara Strong, voice of Twilight Sparkle, signing autographs & taking pictures!! sta.sh/010gyndwdx4m
I also picked up my commissions from Amy Mebberson, ( ), whom I've followed and admired for years. She drew Alice and ALICE for me, and I will be hanging them side-by-side on my art wall by my computer You can see the commissions here: sta.sh/09bxt06xhek
I snapped a picture with her, too: sta.sh/0z4o0gyevnx
Also, this happened, so expect to see some Copic work soon: sta.sh/01lrgw1f8oq3
All in all, a truly epic Comic Con.
Sooo getting a job is my next priority, especially since I have a wedding coming up in April. I'm also going to start pumping out prints like there's no tomorrow for Austin Comic Con and Ikkicon, because the more headway I can make on those, the better. I may also re-open commissions in a few weeks. We shall see.
For those of you waiting to snatch up some of the pony pins from my set, I have sent them away to print. They should be ready late July to early August. I will be selling them on my Etsy site. ( www.etsy.com/shop/SpiralMoonSt… )
As a side note, the money I earn from commissions, pins or other purchases will automatically be put towards my wedding gown. I've gone back and forth on whether or not to post that information, honestly. But I've made it a goal to purchase my own dress, so any support shown towards my pins & artwork is deeply appreciated in a very personal way.
ALSO, just a note on Alice vs. ALICE. I know you guys have been waiting a long time for the next comic. I have it all written & thumbnailed. I just have to sit down and sketch, ink & color it. It's a bit intimidating because this next one is going to be the longest one to date and there are backgrounds. BACKGROUNDS, you guys. So that may be why I've been putting it off, but it's on its way, I swear! Thanks for your patience!
Anyhoo, that's all I can think of for now. Hearts, all! <3 <3 <3
