Hope the New Year is treating everyone well so far. I've been exploding with art, which is good news considering how many conventions I'll be at in 2014.
Last year I had a lot going on. I was focused on planning a Disneyland wedding, getting married and then trying to find a job that could sustain me both financially and not make me want to throw myself off of a bridge. It was a tumultuous year for me (minus the week of my wedding, which was wonderful) and I was saddened to look back and see that I didn't really do any art in 2014, save for the button/pendant designs I knocked out and lip balm labels for the products in my Etsy store.
So, this year, I'm going to re-focus. You'll see a lot of new art coming out of me, mostly in the form of prints. For those of you waiting on more Alice vs. ALICE, I super appreciate your patience and sustained enthusiasm for the whole thing. It's staggering to think that the last Alice vs. ALICE piece I did was almost a year ago. To be honest, I don't know how much longer I'll be continuing the series. I have thumbnailed the 9-page script for getting the girls out of Disneyland, and I don't have much planned past that. I've had an idea for an original webcomic in my head for some time now and that may need my attention more than AvsA, simply because it will be something of my own design and creation, not using someone else's characters - as much as I love the girls. I hope all the fans who have loved and followed AvsA will understand, and know that it isn't the end, but it's certainly going to be tapering down after the girls find their way out of the Disney park without getting arrested.
I think I should also take a moment and recognize those individuals still waiting for me to fill my end of the deal for my Kickstarter - there are some of you who have not received your rewards, and I know all your names by heart. They're sitting here right in front of me, on an Excel spreadsheet pinned to the cork board by my computer monitor. I haven't forgotten, and I promise you'll all get what you were guaranteed. I bit off way more than I could chew with that Kickstarter, I didn't realize the sheer amount of custom work that had to be done and was not prepared for it. That's nobody's fault but my own, and I'll be rectifying it this year.
I'd like to close out by posting my convention schedule for the year:
